9751 scantronic - Low Bat Z09 Error

Hi All,

I have a 9751 scantronic alarm pictures below of the keypad and alarm board.
I have recently got a Low Bat Z09 error on the keypad. Picture below.

I have the alarm code, but I do not have the engineer code.

I opened the alarm board which resulted in the Lid Temper error now.

Can someone help me on 2 issues:
What does the Low Bat Z09 error mean?
How can I fix that error?
How do I reset the alarm to bring back the default engineer code?

low bat radio device zone 9, and you have the lid of the panel for the lid tamper.

as for defaulting sorry that wont be given for obvious reasons.

no that the panels back up battery, zone 9 will be much smaller in a door contact or PIR.

Oh right cool. I think it might be one of the door contacts. I'll check it out.
So once replaced and the lid back on, how do I get rid of the lid tamper message?

just do a user reset, should be fine.

fair point thought I had mentioned it, but may be I changed my mind, if they have been in a while the first device goes the rest soon follow, if its not been long since last battery change then it could be a fault and draining quicker than it should

Older kit uses AA (PIR) or AAA (door contact) alkaline batteries. Newer kit uses lithium batteries - LS14500 (3.6V AA-size) for PIRs and CR2 (3.0V) for door contacts and vibration sensors. Scantronic recommends replacing them every year (but they can last 18 months or longer, depending on use). Remove the cover of the device and enter you code at the keypad to stop the tamper sound. Take the old battery out and wait for at least five minutes. Write the date on the new battery with a fine marker pen and fit it the right way round. Replace the cover and reset the alarm.

The big battery in the panel will last longer if it is the other way up - with the terminals at the top.

Your alarm appears to be connected to a telephone line - is it monitored by a central station? Do you have a maintenance contract with the installer? If so, they should have changed the batteries...

Reset the alarm by pressing the tick button when it says "NEXT" in the bottom right-hand corner. You won't be able to reset it if the fault still exists.

A "1st stage reset" will reset all the codes back to the defaults - it is explained in the installer's programming manual.

Hey EightyTwo,

I have replaced the CR2 battery on the door. The PIRs do not have batteries.
Nothing else has batteries but I still get the low batt z09 error
Even after entering the code and trying to set the alarm, the message is the same

Any other ideas?

I've swapped the bog battery round.
No the alarm is not under a maintenance contract.

Did you wait for a while between taking the old battery out and putting the new one in? This is important as Scanny stuff will remember that it has a low battery for quite a while.

Check the battery with a meter, if you can. I've had dead new ones before...

If all else fails, power the whole thing down, mains and Yucel battery, and up again, battery first. Then do a walk test (code, 9) and open and close the door.

The old battery was out for at least a week while I could find the same replacement, so I don't think that's the issue.

Also the new battery works fine.

I'll try the power down, do you mean just switch off the electricity via the fuse box?
