A couple of tiling questions

I know the normal bits for working out where to start tiling etc.

However for the current job the wife wants some fairly large tiles (25x50). This has led me to a couple of questions as I'm planning out each wall.

One wall will have a feature which sets the horizontal position of the tiles. This means I will be left with 14cm running up the corner. My question relates to the next wall - would it look better to use the remainder of the previous tile (36cm) or to start with a fresh tile? I think I would normally use the remainder however if I do that then I would use one full tile after then another cut tile before it gets to the door. If I start with a full tile then I will nearly get 2 full tiles - will just have to take a few mm off.

2nd Question - On the wall behind the door I was going to start from the centre point. This would give full tiles for the majority of the wall with a row of 35cm wide off cuts at both sides. Again this is the way I would normally do it but I'm wondering if I would be better to start with a full tile at one end - this would result in having a 20cm at one end but this would be the corner behind the door. I think I would prefer it to look like that - does that sound right?

Probably over thinking it!

I'm not a tiler but have done various jobs to a professional standard - personally I'd centralise both walls, ie a cut off both ends of both walls.

I'm not a tiler either but in my own shower the previous owner started with a fresh tile and the proportions of the cut down one into the corner draws my eye and feels wrong.
