Did you find out what the problem was ?
I have same problem and i noticed that the neon light stays on all the time.
This is either down to the Thermostat in the tank or the pipes inside the tank are scaled up.....
I have had my tank descaled, so i'm leaning towards new thermostat....this is in the front of the tank behind winter/sumer cover.....
