Hope your cat will get OK.

About a month ago my daughter's cat suddenly stop eating and look very poorly. The cat is 2 years old and until that time had been to the vet only for some vaccinations. The vet suspected feline leukaemia, did some fast test, explained that it is extremely infectious to other cats and that the cat can never be released from the clinic and has to be put to sleep. We asked for another test in a specialised lab and left the cat there while waiting for the results. What was my surprise when I googled "feline leukaemia". None of the b***t we were told were true.

The vet was changed immediately, the other vet suggested a specialized vet hospital, the initial diagnose was not confirmed, after several days in the hospital and some treatment home the cat is OK now. Imagine we had believed the first vet.

So from my experience can say - double check everything. There is a lot of info online, specialised sites. Ask your vet to explain everything you want to know, if necessary look for another opinion.

Good luck to you, the Mrs, and the cat!!!

Touchy touchy

What you fail to even contemplate is one, the possibility that the cats do not have a litter tray in the house at all. Mine don't.

And two, that what you posted was completely irrelevant to the topic.

If you can't post compassionately on a topic like this, desist.

Strange innit.

I personally don't do pets. I see animals as animals, but i do admire certain species.

Dogs are pack animals and always look to a superior leader or master and are subservient to their master. It is still a wonderful sight to see a working dog doing its thing.

I grew up with cats and have always admired their survival instincts even when domesticated. I have a 2" scar above my eyes from a part- feral cat we had when i was a child. Once, whilst pregnant this cat caught a rabbit, dragged it 600yards to our house, carried through an open (5' - top opening sash) window and laid it on the ground whilst still alive!

Pound for pound, cats are the ultimate hunter-killer mammals and would have no trouble with humans, dogs or otherwise of similar weight and size.

I awoke to a p****d off ball of fur that was trying to claw my face off and bite off my fingers when I tried to get it off..

I had numerous cuts and bite marks and 3 stera-strips on my left arm where the thing had got a good swipe in..

Well that's proof then, ALL cats are dangerous. Hey! I saw a guy hitting another guy the other day.... ALL guys must be dangerous then! Get a grip man Col. I can understand you being freaked out by the cat doing whatever but that don't make EVERY SINGLE cat the same does it?

And my reference wasn't JUST toward cats. I've got a big problem (I admit, it's a big problem for me), with seeing anyone/thing being picked on.

Anyway, I think we've drifted off track a bit (me included). This is about Paul's cat. If anyone wants to start a thread on cats likes/dislikes, then it ain't too difficult to start a new thread.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Paul. Hope it all turns out ok.

I hurled the thing across the room where luckily for it, it landed on the armchair.. If I was able to see it in the dark before it darted out of the cat flap I'd have kicked the sodding thing through the patio door.. while it was still shut...
You've always struck me as quite a reasonable bloke Col and on occasion I've actual felt quite sorry for you given your current circumstances. I'm not a violent person, but if you ever "hurled" or "kicked" my cat, or any other defenseless animal, I would have no hesitation in knocking you out. :D
