I've just watched the clip on a Guardian article from Nov 2014; 'Film shows Nigel Farage calling for move away from state-funded NHS' this was when he was the leader of UKIP, not the leader of Reform. It is also over 10 years old.

There is also this from the BBC published at approximately the same time in Nov 2014:

is this the same Nigel Farage who before the referendum was talking about the "Norway model" .................then shortly after was suddenly talking about the need for a "Clean break" otherwise known as a No Deal brexit

Oh do give it a rest @Notch7

Labour aren’t going to sell more off than they have already and unless the country goes completely mad Reform will not be in Government.

Rest assured that the 3 main parties will do their best to point this out when we next have a vote

People just need to be aware of the pros and cons of this start up party - but that said the electorate handed flip flop and Theeves a huge majority so it could happen

not the leader of Reform.
here is Rupert Lowe in 2025 talking about a private system for NHS

"central planning never ever works"

So this was 10 years ago -- mod mods take down his posts notch is spreading misinformation and lies - I am a big baby who doesn’t like things I being posted I dont agree with -blah blah - (you get the idea )

Here is what I think about it. He is not the leader of Reform, Nigel is. MPs have their own personal thoughts and ideas about things, doesn't mean they will get the backing of others in their party.

In Reform's manifesto it says:

'The NHS Needs Urgent Reform: Despite record extra funding in recent years, NHS healthcare outcomes have declined. While still free at the point of delivery, our healthcare needs major reforms to improve results and enjoy zero waiting lists.'

There is more on the NHS within it but too long to post here, few want to wade through mountains of info.

There is a voucher policy within the manifesto which basically says if you are not seen within a certain amount of time you will get a voucher, so essentially it will nudge you towards going private whilst giving you a sweetener. For those that can afford this, great, for those that can't, it has the tough luck feel about it which I don't like. I'm still in two minds, if the other major parties had bucked their ideas up and not treated us so appallingly in a myriad of ways, Reform would still be a glint in Nigel's eye.

However, what it doesn't say is that they are going to privatise the NHS, which should come as a relief to those who thought the NHS would be scrapped under Reform.

Nigel Farage wants an American insurance based healthcare system.

Here he is last Sunday saying so on LBC

Nigel Farage Says He Is ‘Open to Anything’ When It Comes to Replacing NHS With ‘Insurance-Based Model’

It’s the latest hint that Reform UK would privatise the NHS

I think he probably wont (unfortunately) push it forward, but there's always hope
interesting how you believe the NHS is widely inefficient but you want an American insurance based system which is 2.5x more expensive.

It’s no surprise you are a Reform supporter

The Tories deliberately under funded the NHS in order to claim that it was inefficient and needed more privatisation.
People who complain about the NHS don't really understand how private health systems work.
