Government has budgeted £407bn over two years of which I believe £357bn has already been spent. This does not include the £100bn to p issed away on Operation Moonshot testing. So maybe sometime in 2022 we could have spent half a trillion pounds. Our debt has gone from £643bn to £2.13tn and counting. Possibly peaking just under £3tr in 2025-26. The same ones shouting that we were sinking in debt in 2010 are awfully quiet now.
I'd like to know how much that is per person per year

'Public service broadcaster' euphemism for state controlled broadcaster.
You contradicted yourself.
You dont trust anything associated with a state broadcaster in a foreign country but you the defend the BBC as a more reliable source of information simply because it is state funded.

We can complain in how it was spent or misspent -Test and Trace billions down the pan. Moonshot..It came from China but we will be the ones picking up the tab.
I think the 100 billion for misspent failed Test and Trace should be looked at but balanced with looking at how other countries managed by comparison

The false premise. The BBC is not state funded and if you equate all broadcasters with a public remit to be the same then does that include public organisations like the ONS?

Where do you get your objective facts and truths?

The BBC is funded by a tax levied by the government on television owners.
That makes it state funded.

I see Kier’s attempt at getting in touch with “real people” hasn’t gone to well.
Chucked out of a pub by the landlord who looked like he wanted to batter him. Lol.

"A clip circulating online shows Keir Starmer being confronted by someone spreading dangerous misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yep, just another mediocre RWR conspiracy nut job, desperate for his 15 seconds.

The guy was upset about lockdown.

I'm not sure it's actually political as such....both parties supported lockdowns.

Seems to me the landlord was venting his anger at Starmer instead of at the virus.

It's a stressful time for pub landlords

The bloke was imho a bell end
Rude
Ill mannered
Big gob

starmer was invited into the pub by the bell ends bussiness partner
