AA primary cell voltage through its life?

I was under the impression that an AA cell could go down to 1.3 volt at least so that rechargeable could be used, but things change over
If you know it all why the bleep ask for advice?
the years, and maybe today 1.4 volt is considered as the minimum, I expected some link or chart like this one

from the battery university this seems to show 1.2 volt is about the point where they can considered to have failed, but it seems other types have a different graph

this seems to show why 1.4 volt may now be considered as the limit. Now I have found the web page there does seem to be some sense, but would not have thought a cat flap needs a battery to take extreme temperatures?

If the cat flap is in a door which gets full sun during a summer day and frozen during a northern winter night then the battery is likely to experience some big temperature swings over time.

Battery compartment on the inside. Having now found the battery university web site, my question is now answered, I had forgot the site existed, however I do feel 1.4 volt is too high to change batteries, unless I can find some LiFeS2 primary cells. Is that what the Energizer cell is? Energizer AA Lithium Batteries, Double A Battery Ultimate Lithium it says was first made in 2008 and claims
  • No weather worries! Superior performance in extreme temperatures from -40 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Great choice for outdoor activities in any season
  • 33% lighter than alkaline batteries – ideal for travel, camping, hiking and use in high-drain game controllers, handheld electronics and power tools
  • Holds power in storage for up to 25 years for trustworthy backup energy
and found at £8.41 for 4, but looking at the chart they would last a lot longer with a 1.4 volt cut off.

I once found a circuit, which was designed to boost the voltage of a cell, as the voltage fell, to squeeze the very last drop of power out of them.
