About that Japan trade deal...

We were not talking about taking back control, just arguing the toss whether the eu tells us what to do, so you admit they tell us what to do, so ellal is wrong.
We were part of the EU that organised the CE marking. So we agreed with the rest of the EU and told ourselves what to do.

Now the EU tells us what to do.

Exactly, ellal is wrong.

Hmm...

From IT

"We were part of the EU that organised the CE marking. So we agreed with the rest of the EU and told ourselves what to do."

Which bit of that don't you understand?

All of it, we are part of the eu, which makes regulations, and these regulations we have to adhere to, so, the eu are telling us what to do.
You're not that bright are you...

But hey, as of 01.01.21 guess what the EU are going to tell the UK to go do

So have we been adhering to eu or UK regulations for the last 40 years ? We can export stuff to the eu with no CE mark, as they don't tell us what to do ? Come on, a 5 year old can see the eu make the rules, and yes, we were in the eu making the rules, but they came from the eu. 1 1 21 the eu will continue to tell us to do the same as they have for 40 years.

Again which bit of being part of the EU don't you get?

The UK was part of the regulatory system, but is no longer so...

But if the UK wishes to export to the EU it needs to adhere to those standards that the UK helped to write...

So how do you propose that will happen if there is no deal to still recognise products going from the UK to the EU?

Or indeed anything the UK exports to the EU composed of components from other third country nations, which under a 'no deal' the UK itself becomes!

The UK was able to help shape the regulations whilst being a part of the biggest trading bloc in the world.

As of next year the UK will have to follow EU regulations if we wish to trade with them, but then having no influence to shape any future regulations they wish to impose on 'third countries'...

And the UK becomes a 'third country' on the 1st of January 2021 unless borisconi does yet another U-turn and does a deal!

hether the eu tells us what to do, so you admit they tell us what to do

The EU don't "tell us what to do"

The UK had a seat at the table and was able to take a share in the decision making.

The UK will still have EU as its biggest trade partner, but it no longer has any say.

Neither are you. You don’t seem to realise that there’s still negotiations to be done. Plenty of time for the EU to bow to our demands. Come back on the 2.1.21 and try blowing your anti UK trumpet then.

No. Private negotiations I understand. Are there minutes bring taken and published that we can check up and see what’s being discussed then?
Valid point and the reason for my post above.

I'm struggling to understand why both sides are taking so long and all we hear back from both of them is a deal is just around the corner.

Either the EU don't want it or Bozza doesn't.

I reckon that they are holding out on our demands and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a last minute deal signed. I’m pretty sure that we would walk away with a no deal if we had to and they know that. Not in anyone’s interest but possibly better than being locked into a bad deal. Of course, compromises will have to be made on both sides. We will only know when it’s done (or not). Ellal has just got everything crossed that the EU come out on top. Nothing new there!
