ABS fault

Is it feasible to replace an abs sensor to abs module plug cable with two core cable soldered in at both ends to the original wires?

Yes, if your soldering is up to it.

About 50 years ago, my uncle was welding a suspension top mount plate on his Anglia and set fire to the wiring loom under the bonnet. It had about 20 wires going to the ignition, dynamo, lights etc. We cut the loom out of another car in the scrappie's and joined them up by just stripping and twisting the individual wires together, covering the bare wires with insulating tape and then wrapping the whole lot in insulating tape. By the time we had finished, we had a bulge in the wiring loom as big as a fist! It worked though. :mrgreen:

Done the same on a punto when a cat was hiding under the bonnet and a stray dog chewed all wire in an attempt to catch it.
It worked until the punto was scrapped many years later.
 
@ £105+vat for a VW replacement cable, a run of 2 core soldered at the ends then shrink wrapped seems wise.

Have been soldering for 30 years.
