Accessibility

Is a key a tool then "sorry, cant get access the front door is locked" this makes the whole installation inaccessible......is there a reg for that...

Do you also write on top of the carpets to let future sparks/DIYers know where the JBs are ?....didn't think so.....what about detailed drawings of the installation where JB locations are....possibility, but I dont think so....

I think using a bit of common sense goes a long way....

A quick question....

Would I be OK to install a ceiling rose under a floorboard and run the flex through the ceiling into lamp holder.....no reason why....would this be acceptable.....?

I do quite a bit of laminated flooring, so if I see a marking regarding JB position, does this mean this should be rewired or cannot have laminated flooring !

I think your lecturer does not have a lower limb with which to support himself......

Glad to see it wasn't just me that got told I hadn't got a reply mode specified (or summat like that) and hit [Submit] again and again. Wonder why I didn't get multiple copies of my post though?

Hmmm.

Anyway - maybe the answer should be for there to be an Amendment 3 to BS7676:2001 banning laminated flooring if there are any cables under it. This would solve the accessibility conundrum and the bad taste problem in one go.

As I ponder clicking on [Submit] I wonder how many people who like laminate flooring will be upset by this....

Tis the bain of any tradesmans life.

I get asked to install something "but you can't go under the floor it's just been done"

"Can I run it outside?" I ask. "Oh, no! That would be totally unacceptable...."

So I can't install it then.

Moan, whinge etcetera.........

Got the NICEIC guy (hopefully) giving me a call tomorrow about somethink else so I will ask him his points of view on accessibility......
