Can anyone tell me if terminal 1 of an acl LP522 should be live regardless of whether it is set to 'on' or 'off'. Currently I have HW on all the time. This a new programmer, thanks.

OK, thanks Boilerman2, any ideas why this terminal is giving live all the time?

Stuck motorized valve or faulty cylinder stat.

Programmer wired or set wrong.

The ACL LP522 pragrammer wirung is as follows-

L = Live
N = Neutral
1 = HW OFF
2 = CH OFF
3 = HW ON
4 = CH ON

The ACL LP111 & LP711 time clock is wired the same but is voltage free so a link has to be fitted between L & 1 to overcome this.

It appears that you may have wired the LP522 up as a time clock.

First thing I would do as it's a new programmer, is check the link on the back has been set to either P or G.

OK thanks guys for your continuing help, definitely set to P and new MPV fitted, system was working before it tripped the earth switch in the mains fuse box. Dripping MPV replaced as was cylinder stat and new programmer. It seems as though terminal one is supplying the juice to the boiler to keep it going. if I disconnect it the boiler shuts down. Have checked the wiring and it seems ok.

The orange controls the boiler and pump, you have wired the MV up wrong by the sound of it.

Another thought could be you crossed the cylinder stat wires over.

Perhaps a clear pic of the wiring center.

OK, wiring configuration is as follows: MPV white=5, green=8, orange=7, blue=2 and gren'yellow=3, cylindersat: blue=(s)8, Brown=(c)6, Green/yellow=(h)7, as per lifestyle wiring diagram. Its quite possible its something I've wired incorrectly, question is what, I replaced each wire one at a time and have checked it several times, must be something I've missed.

Here is a picture of the wiring center. The original installer used the vertical connector blocks as terminal 2 and 3, the only deviation from a standard fitment I can see is the addition of a frost stat.

It sure isn't wired properly, and looking at all the earth wires carrying a phase I think the best advice is get a sparky, to re-wire the lot.

Clue the boiler live. the pump live, and the orange should be connected, but what the green and yellow does is anyone's guess

Yeh your right, a mess, I think this one has beaten me, will make a call on Tuesday, thanks everyone for your help.

I would "guess" it's the HW on(call) from cyl stat - I do agree it's a shambles though. ;)

Just notice when I switch the boiler on after leaving the whole system off overnight and it seems to operating normally? any ideas.

All the cables are marked (boiler for example)

Write a list of them all and what number the wires go too for each one, and I'll amuse myself putting them together.
