It is a right mess and speaking of earth wires why does the 3port's neutral seem to be connected to one?
or is it just the camera angle?

update, after being off overnight just switched on and all seemed ok, back to its old ways now I think.

It is connected to a separate connector block effectively used as 2, I think.

We always thought when this was installed that it looked a bit weird, but it worked fine for 14 years.
 
Where did you get the numbers from.

For example

The orange isn't in 8 and the grey isn't in 3.
