YOU TEACH PEOPLE TO KILL PEOPLE WELL YOUR IN THE RIGHT PLACE AINT YOU BABE

So teaching someone a skill is wrong

Haven't heard on any cases where a driving instruction was in court because he helped someone pass the test and they subsequently went on to do a death by dangerous driving.

AND ASKING SOMEONE THAT YOU KNOW PERSONALLY FOR ADVICE ON SOMETHING YOU KNOW THEY ARE COMPETENT IN IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN ASKING SOME ONE HERE

NO PROBLY NOT MATE THATS COS THE PERSON PASSED THERE COMPETENCE TEST IN DRIVING DUH

Because it doesn't become our responsibility when we offer advice. It's quite simple, you either take it or leave it and that is the choice of the person seeking the advice. If they do not feel they are capable of carrying out the job as advised, then they should leave it alone, and if they are stupid enough to carry on regardless, then that is their problem, not ours.

Finally, what began as a well mannered and atleast slightly understandable discussion, has turned into a pathetic attempt by you to discredit the forum and blame us for leading people to their deaths... You really are an idiot if you truly believe that.

And please, keep your posts in lower case and stop making about 4 posts in a row squabbling over different parts from different posts.

AND NO TEACHING SOMEONE PHYSICALLY THAT YOU CAN KEEP AN EYE ON AND WATCH OR BE WATCHED OVER AND IS TESTED IS NOT WRONG GIVING SOMEONE A HOW TO DO LIST AND LIVING ON THE HOPE THAT THEY WILL BE ALRIGHT IS WRONG WOULD YOU TEACH SOMEONE TO SHOOT A GUN ON A FORUM

The only way that argument works is if you are sure they wont follow that advice the fact is that if someone who is not competent asks for advice and you give it they will HAVE AGO and if it goes wrong dont you think you should take the responsibilty

and the reason it has become this is because none of you are hearing what is being said you are reading what you lik and trying very miserabally to avoid issues

and you are an idiot if you seriously dont believe that giving advice to someone who is not competent on a what could be dangerous job has no possibility of in dangering him self or others esp if the advice they are given is from someone who is not willing to prove there knowledge and take the slightest bit of responsibilty.Ever gone round and checked the work that has been done on your advice from this forum

I dont think there is a person here who doesn't understand what you are trying to say, the problem is that none of us agree with you.

There are hundred of thousands of forums, from everything from healthcare, to tax issues, to DIY. If I ask an unknown person on an accountants forum and they give me some advice which later turns out to be incorrect I only have myself to blame for not cross-referencing that information. I would not blame that person personally because he offers advice to the best of his knowledge and I chose to act on that advice.

The very same principal applies here, anyone can offer advice regardless of qualifications because it doesn't require a qualification to offer some of the advice that is requested - much of which just requires a bit of experience, and experience can be gained by anyone doing anything.

I'm going nowhere near the mods, it far too much fun (on a boring invoice afternoon) reading your tepid, uneducated, foolish responses.

The Government has made no suggestion that Part P rules will be changed at anytime in the future. The rules work well, and as you should know they do not forbid DIYers doing work.

Non notifiable works include adding a socket, a fuse spur,a new light position, connecting a cooker, replacement of a part circuit due to cable damage, replacement of broken switches, fittings and sockets (unless in bathroom, kitchens or outside).

Other areas where DIYers can do work might include changing light fittings, sockets and switch faces. Bonding can be done by anyone.

So there ARE areas that legally anyone can do, and yet you suggest offering advice is wrong.

Again please comment, is it better to help the uneducated / unskilled who will do the work anyway- or better not to offer help and advice ?
You know the answer, but won't say so- why?

Well we know why don't we

It proves you stupid stance, is exactly that- Stupid, wrong and from an age long gone.

Please have a look at a standard Council PDF on the matter

You still talkng about electricy which tends to kill things and burn things :?:

It is far better to leave it to a competent person and not give out how to do lists to people who are not you also know the answer

Cant seem to find any NAPIT ECA JIB OR GOVERNMENT body backing your site thats odd

For someone who supposedly has numerous electrical qualifications you seem to have an extremely warped perception of the dangers posed by electricity.

It's not going to sneak up on you and give you a push into a bundle of live, and conveniently stripped cables that it laid there earlier. We are talking about domestic electricity - 230V. You have to touch a live cable to get a shock or a burn, or you have to have done something so stupidly wrong that something that shouldn't be energised becomes so.

I hate to say it, because there are many factors that affect electrical installations, but at the end of the day there are just 3 colour coded wires. If someone can't follow the sort of instructions that they use in childrens colouring books, then frankly they are probably better of getting a belt, atleast then it might just hit home how much of a moron they are.
