Hi all

Planning a slightly raised composite deck with pergola at the rear of my garden The rear (top on image) will only be around 20cm off the ground, the front more like 35-40cm. Wonder if you think the layout of support posts and joists is sufficient. The green joists are laying on top of the white. The blue posts I'm planning to be pergola posts. Are there any issues building the frame off of these posts?

The reason I don't have double joists at the back is that that ground area is higher than the front, and also around some tree roots so I don't want to dig down further and lay the green joists on top of this part.

Was planning to sink the posts and use postmix. I know this isn't always preferred. Looked at the option of concrete-in post supports, but my concern is that the pergola posts will be 2.4m above the ground and load bearing, so not sure the post supports would be enough?

Posts are 100x100. Frame joists would be all 2x4, but maybe 2x6 for the top piece or for all the white joists?

Not actually sure what the bottom blank section will be yet, but possibly more deck, just stepped down, so taking that as a separate thought in terms of loading...

Thanks
