Advice on whether i'll need to get an electrician in?

There's no ring anywhere near to the washing machine. The kitchen is a flat roof extension and the cooker circuit is the only wiring.

Any other idea's?

The cable has to come from somewhere and its probably not going to be a nice choice of surface mounted trunking or a lot more serious and invasive cabling, given we haven't seen the kitchen personally or even via a photo to know if there are options and more importantly what the lady of the house wants

I appreciate its not straight forward!

The wiring for the cooker switch can't go straight up as there's a window above it! Plus the cooker cable outlet isn't below the switch but about 2 feet diagonally downwards!

We've just had a look and can't see any way to get power to this outside wall with a flat roof.

I suspect that's why the last electrician put the spur socket off the cooker switch for the washing machine.

Thanks for the reply, and yes I was aware of that at least. I remember being told when I was young that sockets should always be vertical and never anything else so that anybody would be able to deduce where the cable would run and thereby avoid it if doing any work on the house drilling etc.

The house is about 80+ years old, old enough to have outside toilets and coal sheds etc which over the years have been adapted to be other buildings etc.
The extension is at least 20+ years old as that's how long they've lived there.
