Not something I've ever come across, but was thinking, if a modern boiler with electronic ignition (spark generator and spark plug) was fitted on a circuit that had AFDD protection, would the ignition process likely cause the AFDD to trip?

Or is whatever the AFDD measures different in an arcing circuit than it is to a powered spark generator? I suppose the same question could be asked for a gas cooker using a mains powered sparker

I would guess any form of generated spark would derive from the Secondary winding of some sort of transformer, isolated from the Primary 230v winding which any AFDD would be monitoring

No. They're looking at the current waveform with certain characteristics, in particular there is a minimum peak-to-peak current for the arc event. The ignitor doesn't draw enough current to meet that requirement in the first place.
