I know there are some similar topics already but....
I would like to install a heat leak radiator [just a small one] to reduce the heat input to my water cylinder. it's a 45 gallon foamed cylinder [i couldn't bring myself to cut some lagging off] but because of infrequent use it still gets very hot- too hot!
I only use it in the winter [it's solid fuel] and so the constant radiator heat output will be welcome in the bathroom and I don't need 90 gallons of hot water a day either.
My question is how I go about plumbing it. The 28mm feed and return pipes have a T joint at the height of the cylinder connectors [gravity-indirect cylinder] so i was just going to run pipes from the unused side of the T via 22/28mm pipe to a heat leak? [I plumbed the whole house and deliberately used a T instead of an elbow on the pipes to allow for a radiator if needed].
If so, do i need to get a towel rail [for example] and plumb the feed into the top and the return into the bottom of the radiator in order to allow gravity to take it's course? or might it work plumbed with both connections at the bottom if the flow through the pipes and cylinder will draw water through it?
I hope that makes some kind of sense....I'd be very grateful for any advice!! thanks.
