Albanian Independence Day was celebrated in London the other day. Many streets and bridges were closed and traffic diverted and much inconvenience caused. However, these poor people who have come here with nothing to escape terror and persecution seemed to be enjoying themselves at last.

Andy, don’t you think Albanians are allowed to celebrate?

We went to Serbia in 2017 when Wales played in Belgrade, a few days before the match the local derby, Partisan v Red Star, took place and a young Partisan fan got shot. The hospital put a call out for blood donors so around 26 Welsh fans turned up and donated blood and had a whip round for the lads family. Everywhere we went after that we got treated like royalty by the locals, they loved us, sadly the young lad died. During the Wales match some Serbs, from outside Belgrade, threw missiles at the Welsh and ripped down our flags off the dividing fence, the Partisan Belgrade fans started slapping these Serbs and handed back our flags, shook hands and apologised. Best lager I've ever had in Belgrade, dead cheap too.

I recall that Spain v England friendly
A while back

We’re all the black players ( all playing for England) we’re booed and subjected to racist chants

If I had been in charge of the team at the time I would have pulled the entire team off the field

And if I recall the Spanish manager made some comment after the match as he walked past some England player or official giving a tv interview on the caper

He would have got a smack in the mouth Afai am concerned

I recall some World Cup game were some German player walked up to an opposing player and spat on his head / face ( twice I think)

Big Jack charlton said if he had been spat on like that he would have laid the bloke out

“ chinned him he said”
