I know, we have to move with the times and I have two digital ones, one more suited to motorcars as it has a rev counter function inbuilt. Cheap as chips and if they go wrong they will end up in the bin without me shedding a tear. I do still miss my old AVO though, one day I may see if I can get a replacement.
I managed to get a very nice pristine mechanical revolution counter a year or so ago via a surplus sale. ex-Royal Naval dockyard, so hear's hoping
