We have had our kitchen knocked through into the dining room and have 2 different floors we would like to cover with tiles. One is brand new levelled and sealed concrete the other is an old original parquet floor with a few sticky up bits! :) The man at the tile shop says use 3 buckets of £50 special adhesive for wood floor bit  Is this the only solution to the wood bit :?: I don't really want to go through the process of taking the whole floor up and concreting that bit as well, any ideas, anybody???

How much (kg, ltr) of the special adhesive is in a bucket??
£ 50 for 500gr would be pretty expansive, £50 for 16 kg would be fairly normal.

Do you know the name of the special adhesive? Then you can compare prices on the internet?

Hi,
Will check in the morning, stuff is from topps tiles probably their own brand. I am trying to find a suitable tile for 23 sq metres of floor. It has to be cleanable (!) hard wearing and not too slippy as I have 2 kids - one only 2 and a mad dog. I have seen dogs and laminate together, a bit like Torville and Dean! I am looking at Chinese/multi coloured slate and York stone but can't decide between the two. What do you think? Thanks for your help so far.
Stilletto. ;)

Sorry, Stiletto, we can only advice/comment on wood matters (like suitable adhesive etc). Don't have any ideas on tiles I'm afraid.
If you could find out what kind of adhesive it is we might recommend alternatives.
