Another Spanish quarantine.

My nephews girlfriend is Mexican they were staying with her parents. Her parents are both senior consultants and live in a stonking great house, so it's been a life of 5* luxury.

Why the fudge would he come back?

If you have to self isolate/quarantine, how do you get from the airport to your house ?

Obviously travel to home is excluded otherwise you’d never be able to get on the plane. Travel to your house will only be a matter of hours, quarantine is for a lot longer. You can only do so much without getting silly about it.

Public transport, taxi, your car if you drove there. Yes, it doesn't make sense.

Make perfect common sense. Serious question, what would you suggest other than a 100,000 room quarantine centre at each airport?

considering the rules brought in you would hope that any intelligent and considerate person would take extra care on their journey home and then self isolate without the need for monitoring - even if 10% don't you are still reducing the risk by 90%

Of course you do have to wonder why anyone felt the need to jet off on a foreign holiday (to a country that had suffered so badly) so soon after the peak of this global epidemic crises - may be I'm being hopeful that only10% will completely ignore the riles?

I'm guessing that those that decided to travel to such a country as soon as they could during a worldwide pandemic are either not all there in the ‘ead or have warped sense of entitlement and selfishness. Or both.

Or they've listened to the gov guidelines and gone on holiday because of 'air bridges' etc, basically saying it's safe to go. I wouldn't go on holiday right now but I can understand why some have. Blame the gov's around the world - they just want their tourist dollar.

in fairness to Sturgeon, even when the 'air bridges' were opened she made it very clear that it should only be for essential travel. I guess it's too difficult to devise a law that defines essential travel, but I would have thought most intelligent people would not think holidays in the sun were essential at the moment.

I wouldn't want to go on holiday in Spain and have to spend my time wearing a mask in hot sunshine.

Don't we all need to take responsibility and make the right decision for ourselves.

If you can afford to go Spain and get trapped there or come back to self isolation then fill your boots. The government have given you that freedom. If you can't then don't go. We all know what's going on..

Very little travel is essential when you think of it though. Even most business meetings at the moment can be put off til later/done online. Apart from going home from being stranded from this pandemic, I can't think of any travel that is essential?

There's very little essential travel apart from work.

The world must go on. We as individuals need to make our own decision in life and stop blaming the government. No one made anyone go to Spain...
