Clever little things. Read an article yesterday about fire ants heading (inexorably) towards Sidney. (that's Sidney Australia, not Sidney my mate down the pub!) They reckon they will be on the outskirts within 10 years. The Aussies have two choices; spend about $7billion dollars trying to stop them now, or spend about $10billion dollars a year dealing with the damage (forever after) when they do arrive.
They said the $7billion now isn't a guaranteed solution? You'd think another, say, $10billion now might be a good idea.
