I dread coming on here and telling someone they don't know what they're talking about but... Gt 550 and Gt 750 were surely both chain driven, and Gt 750 was water cooled - they called it 'The Kettle' - and it definately aint a honda!

Haven't looked in detail at the others yet....

Handy, because Suzi also make the Teapot.

I dread coming on here and telling someone that they are a tad confused, but I suggest you reread my list of bikes. "The Kettle" was watercooled, definitely wasn't a Honda in that it was a Suzuki, (not sure who claimed it was a Honda?) and although it was called GT750 was not the GT range I was referring to. And I've never owned one. Now, the Kawasaki GT550 and GT750 are without doubt air cooled, although both also have a small oil cooler as well. And they are without doubt shaft driven.

C'mon lets have it !!!
Who had the fastest moped ??????;
My 'p' reg Yammaha FS1E eventually got me up to a clocked 58mph, down thunder alley laying on the tank, legs flailing. ( with a strong wind behind me.).
Fastest in the 'swarm' ( we sounded like a swarm of bee's from a mile off ) was a Casal 50 , even though it had a neutral inbetween every gear !!! I always fancied a Suzuki AP50 but my Youth Opp Program never quite stretched that far !

No, but go on I fancy a chuckle, 80mph ??

Was it red ??  .... Nice wheels !!!

It was black, and if I remember rightly it did something like 78 of yer English Miles Per Hour, but a tail wind down a hill would add another 9, and also make it more than a bit wobbly and scary.

I went straight from the CB to a VF500, straight after passing the test, and highsided that one 10 days later.  :D

Glad to see you didn't fall into the trap of thinking that I knew what I was talking about!

I had one of these
untitledfi1.png

anyone know what it is ? it was very slow, I used to go out with mates to the country pubs on weekends they always got there before me ;) and got the beer in, mine was grey and if you slung it over too far on the corners the running board would lift the wheels of the deck and you'd get dumped

I know an L.E. Velocette when I see one!

Why isn't it grey?

your right John, it should be grey, I just plucked this one oft tinternet, the village bobby use to use them but couldnt chase anyone with it, then again in those days you didnt need to, he'd just go round their house later and give em a thick ear. ;)

Eh? What's that you say? A thick what?

Sorry, I suffered hearing damage as a lad.

"he'd just go round their house later and give em a thick ear"

then your parents an the rest of the villages trapped him a whicker man an burnt him ..lol..lol :)

yep! and then rod stewarts ex came round and danced all naked round my bedroom wiggling her bum, and I gave her a cuddle.
