I'm taking a chimney breast out at home but the mortar is very soft and crumbly so I don't want to use a kango to snap the bricks off, it's a party wall and the last thing I need is cracks in the neighbours wall.

I was thinking of getting a flush cutting wheel for my 230mm grinder and just cutting the bricks out but I've come accross what looks like 2 different types of wheel and no explanation of which is best.

type 1 is a standard looking segmented wheel like these

type 2 is unsegmented and tend to be labelled as cuting/shaping discs like these

I would imagine the type 2 would give a cleaner finish but type 1 would be better at cutting but I've no experience of either, would anyoe be able to point me in the right direction?
