Are you looking for inspiration to follow, @transam?

I reckon you'd be good value, on the benches (y) (y)

I reckon I would be

Afaik there are no x manual / blue collar workers as Mps

All graduate pencil pusher types from the city ect ect

They whinge on about a short list for woman ?? Should be a short list of people that have actually had a manual job

Last person I know of was that labour cabinet minister who was a lowly (?) post man

Defence Minister and his side kick Johnny Mercer for veterans affairs. Both ex forces so I suppose thats close enough, for me anyway.

Alan Johnson, a personal hero of mine, we were in touch briefly talking about mutual acquaintences at Slough Post Office.
Decent bloke, sound politician. My old man was a postman in the same place.

A few tories in this mob: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Collar_Conservatism

ANd this lot https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Labour tried to adopt flat cap worthiness from a nacademic standpoint

I'm not sure it's much of an accolade. I want the country to be run by people with a wide education, and have the mental ability to keep up with a wide range of issues. Not many can.

Todlling off to Balliol to bash out a PPE degree is all very well. A necessity, it could be argued, to be a respected MP. Even if you don't want the Establishment, it's good to know how it works. But it wouldn't be enough. You need to know a lot about a spread of weighty activities in the real world. More than you'd get from a car production line.

Johnny Mercer who fought in Afghanistan and cradled his army colleague as he died from his wounds, is not considered a grafter?:evil::evil:
Officers don't count as working class. Now if your opinion is that only the working class do their jobs in that's a different thing.
