Ahh, but I had a free choice to reply or not, which boolean logic can't dictate.

but you only have so many billion brain synapses (?), whereas in a lab with lots of effort... science in the future will have all those permutations in a database... and will have SQLv20 which will be able to 2nd guess what you're thinking...

With the greatest respect, you're looking at the near distant future, and not what's after that...

In the scheme of things, the human brain is an unknown, but before long it'll be an accepted cornerstone from where science moves to...

Well,,,,, Do you believe that one day, robots will conquer the world and destroy all humans??

Or will they join Unison and go on strike??

absolutely... it's a science you nor i understand, but it is evolution.... we are a link in the chain of evolution, but we're nowhere near the last link... but thankfully, it won't be me or my grandkids that see it..

...IMO (hopefully)

When you look at the size of an ant brain yet the computing power it has it's staggering.
Did you know that ants count the number of steps that they have taken to determine how many steps they need to take in order to get back to their nest?

how do you know that?

if they get back to their nest, they "must've counted"..... no not really...

they are randon i their activity,,, surely... based on a scent?

in fact as a maths teacher that is very poor work... 400 hundred steps due north doesn't take you to a nest 400 steps due south !!!

Obviously not, but the 400 steps back south do. ;) ;) ;)
I believe Martian was referring to their sense of direction

Anyway, the way that this feat (pun intended) was discovered was by lifting up some ants who were away from their nest. Some ants have their legs shortened and others had stilts attached. Lo and behold, those with shortened legs got confused part way back to their nests and those with stilts overshot the nest. This experiment has (apparently - I'm just citing if from a book and not the net) has been carried out a sufficient number of times by different scientists to demonstrate its validity.
