Asylum seekers accommodation - Did I hear these numbers correctly?

Apparently they have been seen in Manchester

The question that was raised is if they keep spreading will they be culled

General concensus was that people will not stand for it??? They are quite aggressive to other birds
So they said any way??
I just read on the RSPB that at the moment, they seem to be fine so far. No cull necessary, in fact are protected by law :)

Did I say not to have kids? Eh? No, I don't think I did.
I just said that not to have kids is very good for the planet, darn sight better than a bag for life and banning plastic straws!
Ah, attempting to take the moral high ground...

Tell me then, do you not rely on other people's kids to provide the services that you no doubt have/will need during your lifetime?

Oh sod off Ellal. It was a joke - when people my age were having kids, the environment was not talked about like it is today.

And what isn't a joke is that there are too many people on the planet. We cannot sustain what is going on to feed everyone. So much of the planet is lost to farming.

Seagulls are protected as well.:(
I quite like them too, tho noisy on the roof! Taken the better half to my old home in Brighton twice, both times he was robbed of his hot donut on the pier by seagulls. Did make me laugh :)

All birds are.
This is all to do with the law recently introduced, which Chris Packham got stick for, it basically lumps all birds into one protected group, whereas before, some birds were allowed to be shot/culled. Another hasty kneejerk reaction, rushed through with no real thought. It would be like passing a bill protecting certain animals, but including rats and mice and other vermin in it.Madness.

Is it? I thought birds were protected for some time, including eggs and nests. It didn't mean they couldn't be controlled, but thought needed a reason & a license to control them, such as farmers? I could be wrong on that tho. I thought it was to stop cruelty & things going wrong by the hands of ignorant joe public.

They culled badgers

Dunno how many? Thousands?
Deemed a failure too wasn't it? As far as I can tell, culling doesn't really work and it's very expensive to do.

We work at a fly fishing club and afaik if a heron turned up they are allowed to shoot it
???
