No I would go with the Chinese model for those were there is no doubt tomthere guilt
Death row for where it’s not 100% certain we’re they would remain untill such evidence would be available if it’s not than they would remain there

Does this mean he serves his 10 years minimum and walks free again?
To possibly/probably commit a similar crime and get another LIFE sentence?
As was mentioned above, LIFE should MEAN LIFE!
No parole.
No benefits for good behaviour.
All these people who think the opportunity for rehabilitation for these monsters should be considered should also hope and pray that, when it goes wrong because it probably will, they, or members of their families, are not the next victims.
It's a pity the police didn't get there sooner but it is what it is. It's also a pity the mum was unable to defend her daughter. Both will have to live with that for the rest of their lives. I sincerely hope they get every help they need for the rest of their lives and are not let down by shortages in the system but I won't hold my breath on that one.
People like him should be physically castrated, not medically. When it's done medically they can stop taking the medication and after a length of time there is a chance of 'restoring' them capable again.

Yes and those who let him out early should be held to account for gross negligence
I'm going a bit OT in my own thread. I don't subscribe to capital punishment for various reasons, however I do think we need to lock a lot more people up for longer, in some cases much longer.
Take Katie Piper. She's the woman that had acid thrown over her face, planned by an ex boyfriend and carried out by an accomplice. This left her with severe facial damage and blind in one eye. Here's the important bit from my perspective, for the rest of her life, Katie has to deal with the aftermath both on a physical and mental level. Only recently, she was rushed into hospital with a problem in her blind eye.
So, we've established in this case the victim has a lifetime of having to deal with things caused by the ex boyfriend and accomplice.
What happened to them you ask? Well, the guy who threw the acid was given a LIFE sentence in 2009 ... and told he would have to serve a minimum of 6 years before being considered for parole. He got released in 2018/19. The ex boyfriend I understand is still inside and can't be considered for release until 2025.
I think with crimes like this, crimes where the victim is left with trauma for life, the perpetrators should be locked up for the rest of their natural.
Oh but the cost!!! F**k the cost, as I've said before we p1ss enough £££ up the wall in this country on stuff that has little discernable benefit to anyone, so why not heavily invest in more prisons and staff, then start giving people more realistic sentences!

Wow, we've never discussed this before.
I'm saying that when we had capital punishment murder rates were lower. It's far more complicated than just capital punishment though. Cetain ethnics for whom life is cheap running around spearing each other doesn't help in places like London. But we're not allowed to mention truths like that.

I don't think the death penalty would deter people.
He will be locked up for 10 years, but the life sentence means he can be recalled (if released) at any time. Unfortunately the sentence seems about right for the category and is within the charging standards guidelines.
