Hi,

Would anyone be able to advise what I am doing wrong with the controls wiring for an automated gate/bollard set up.

I have the following that I am trying to set up;

Fadini Vigilo bollard
Elpro S20 control panel
VIX 53 Transmitter & Receiver

I believe all has been connected as per the diagrams provided but no movement.

When I push the transmitter button the LED flashes on the receiver so I assume this is operational.

I have not connected the LED / Sounder cable yet but assume that would not prevent operation

I have installed bridges across the NC links as stated which brings up indicator light L2 (Photocell/loop no obstruction) & L5 (Stop, goes off when a stop pulse is given).

Indicator L7 confirms mains voltage is present and L9 limit switch confirming post is lowered.

Is something clearly wrong.

My Questions;

1) Have I understood the bridges correctly
2) Should there be anything in point 13 "Limit Switch common" (it doesn't show anything on the bollard wiring diagram)
3) Should there be any link between the receiver and anything else or is this purely plug and play kit?
4) Am i missing something between point 3 & 7 for the receiver signal?

Led 9 lit ? I would guess it’s the limit switch ….as per diagram is it a standard or solenoid version of the bollard ?

Was there 3 wires to the limit switch on the bollard ? As I read it there is common up and down ( at a guess it will be a short from common to up or down depending on bollard position ?

4 wires from the limit switch. Connected to points 11, 12, 55 and 56 as per the vigilo diagram. It doesn't show anything i to point 13 "common" should this be bridged in any way?

No it looks correct …have you tried the open command on terminal 4 ? Put a jumper wire into common and touch it to Terminal 4 ( you may have to hold it on , does it start to rise ? If not try it on the close ( if motor not wired correct way around )

Do you mean Jumper from connection point 13 to point 4 (if motor wired correctly) or 5 if wired in reverse?

Jump from 3 "Common" to 4 "Open" and 5 "Close" = nothing

Common to radio also nothing.

Is there a way of checking the receiver module is giving the command to the control board? Red LED flashes when I push the button but nothing on the board. I would expect LED 6 "Radio" to flash.

Under the radio contact connection (as diagram below) it shows the common "3" linked to radio contact "7". This would make sense - push the button receiver closes loop and raises bollard. When I tried this L6 came on and remained on which would indicate it is getting a continuous radio pulse. I expected it to be off and then light up when I pushed the transmitter button.

I may have to get a controls engineer to look at it but it is frustrating as this should be simple follow the instructions connections.

After all that, it was a simple issue with the receiver programming. A reset and fresh programing of the transmitter and we have operational bollards.

I can now concrete them in knowing I wont be breaking them out again.

Thanks for the help.
