back feed of water to header tank

I have a baxi bermuda back boiler. Cylinder hot water tank upstairs and the header tank above this. For some reason warm water is slowly seeping back up the pipe from the cyliner back into the header tank, this is then causing the overflow to constantly run and eventual loss of hot water.

Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean the 'header' tank as in the feed and expansion tank for the CH, or the feed to the cylinder, as in the main cold water storage tank ?

You have a split in the cylinder coil. You need a new cylinder. Sorry
