Basement tanking damp proofing advice please.

I have a problem with water ingress into my living room. The property is 400 a years old cottage with 3ft thick walls. The area where water comes in is approx 2ft below ground level, this is an external wall that has previously been Tanked.
The original stone floor has been Asphalted then a solo Latex levelling compound added before stone flooring.
After exposing the Tanked wall where the water is coming in I have noticed that the Tanking isn't connected to the floor in any way, nether is there a drainage channel to take away and ingress of water.
Should the Tanking have be connected to the sealed floor? maybe with a membrane or tanking slurry?
To me it looks like the original job was not completed properly?
Advice on how to move forward would be very much appreciated.

Thanks Dave

Yes, there should be a similar floor membrane and a drain in the corner connecting them that's either gravity fed to a drain or one that drains into a sump pit that turns on automatically. Bit pointless just adding it to the wall and no drain to take any groundwater away. Whilst low tech, these dimpled membrane systems are actually very good but only when installed correctly.

Tanking slurry's can work the trouble is with them is that it's incredibly difficult to know if they will work or not, they will only work if the (water) pressure is low enough that it doesn't force them away from the surface they're adhered to and of course knowing what that pressure is and what such a slurry can cope with when applied to your particular substrate is nigh on impossible to determine.

Thank you so much for your reply. Unfortunately it is now too late to add a drain without substantial works.

I guess it will have to come down to adding slurry to the channel between the wall and the floor.

I have a surveyor coming to take a look next week.
