Hi all, I have reversed the bathroom door and the old pull cord light switch is now the wrong side, I was going to get the switch moved but it would be very close to the shower end of the bath as its a small bathroom.

I have extended the cord and ran it through some heavy duty eye hooks over the door frame so that the cord is now the correct side of the door and it works great.

My question is would this cord extension break any uk electrical regs etc...

No electrics have been altered just the cord lengthened.

Thanks in advance

:D

It's a rough way of doing it but if it works it works.

Is fitting a wall switch outside the bathroom an option?

Yes I thought of that but not so keen as I could see it becoming an ongoing prank turning the light off and having to poo or bathe in the dark, could get messy lol.

My main concern was regs really.

If the cord breaks the worst that can happen is the light stays on or off?

Non-conductive cord?
