I have just changed my bathroom pull cord which runs 4 spots .I used a 6 amp switch but on looking at the insides of the old one it says 10 ax . Should I have used a 10 amp switch ?

You'll be fine, 4 bathroom spots @ 50watts is still less than one amp.
No unless you have 10A MCB for your lights.

In your fuse box or consumer unit your lighting MCB will probably have B6 written on it which is fine.
If it has B10 then your should use a 10a switch.
If it has B10 then your should use a 10a switch.
