After 20 years the pull switch in the bathroom has stopped pulling.

The room is internal and the pull switch controls both the light and an extractor fan. The fan can be isolated with a switch outside of the bathroom.

Have unscrewed it - nothing obvious just 3 wires - green and yellow from ceiling into the earth in the bit that is screwed to ceiling plus a red and black into the bit that screws into the base on the ceiling. quite happy to change the unit but what should I be buying please.

6A 1 way pull switch will do the job.

it’s usually dust or ceiling plaster in them. So if you like taking things apart to clean. Feel free.
