Hi. I'm going to batten over a block wall in my bathroom but im torn between the ways how to deal with insulation.
Most people say to insulate but do I have to? Honestly i've heard many people also saying that insulating will trap moisture in the wall so I can't really make my mind up if i should insulate or just leave it hollow.
Im planning on battening with 2x1 and 2x4 treated timber since those are the ones i've already got. Both walls that are being battened are outside walls and they are single skin hollow block + render . Can i just batten, cement board over, waterproof and tile over and be done with it? Or should I not worry and insulate the wall as well? Heard some people advising on using "breathable" insulation but i could not find such product locally.
Thanks
