Baxi Bermuda & back boiler - tiling behind

Just a quick question (hopefully)

I have a wall hung baxi bermuda and back boiler that i want to tile around and behind. I know how to remove the firefront easily enough (which a gas fitter said i could do as it doesnt involve touching the gas supply).

Can i remove the wall hanging brackets, tile, then reattach - thus making the firefront sit slightly further out? I would prefer to do this as you can see the wall brackets, and it would be neater than cutting the tiles in.

Best to get a registered gas operative as fire needs to be located into part of back boiler properly and flue safety tests will need to be carried out also.

Probably not.

With the tiles behind, the fire will nit line up properly with the fixing lugs. Often, the burner assembly has not been properly screwed down, so you can wriggle it into the coerrect position.

But you will not know. So get a pro in. IMO

I wouldn't have thought its much of a problem if you don't use v thick tiles, just remove the brackets, tile then re fix the brackets, drill new holes into the fire frame job done, no gas work involved, just make sure that the case will fit the extra tile thickness.

Please explain the process of removing the firefront without touching the gas supply. In all my considerable time servicing 100's of Bermudas, I must have been doing it all wrong.

Depending on the model, he may make the cover/trim rather than the firefront as we know it

Some models you may get away with it, but we have no idea what they have. Shouldn't give advice without knowing the situation

As already said,too many variations of the Bermuda to give accurate advice.I certainly would not recommend altering the current set up without involving a gas fitter.

Sorry if my terminology is incorrect. I mean just remove the front cover, thought this was the fire front. The model I have is the bermuda and pw5
