Bead blasting.

Does anyone have any experience of glass bead blasting with the small cabinets available from Machine Mart and the like?.
I've used an Ace grit blaster for years with my 14cfm compressor and am wondering if DIY bead blasting would give good quality results on alloy motorbike parts.

I built my own from plywood, a glass panel to look through, a funnel shape at the bottom with a sliding trap door to release the used grit, and a vacume cleaner hooked up to it to remove airborn dust
