Beatles to reunite for Olympics?

LooPrEvil

Rumours are in the press that McCartney and Starr may reunite to perform at the Olympics next year.

Why, they are talentless and the music they did as a group was awful?

The Olympics are suppose to be an event to be proud of.

Yes I hear they have been rehearsing....but they've changed their musical style somewhat, they're now doing drum 'n' bass

If the Beatles were that good, Oasis wouldn't have had to rewrite all their songs for them.

Made for each other i'd say.

Both a waste of space.

The Beatles revolutionised music. They took the rock and roll of the 50's and turned it into the pop of the 60's. The beatles changed everything about music, from the way it was made to the way it was marketed. they invented so many things that changed the music industry, quite frankly its gets tedious to list them, from multitracking to the use of innovative instruments, from the Sitar to the Picollo Trumpet.

They saved Classical Music from the hole it had dug itself into by using classic music devices like the Aeolian Cadence and classical instrumentation, and they became the brand leaders of the Swinging Sixties and as such, had vast and profound influence over art, music, fashion, design, culture and society. They profoundly changed the attitude of the western world, and helped transform 50's Rebellion in 60's Protest.

The Beatles were a paradigm shift in culture and a turning point in western cultural history, there influence on popular music was still reverberating in the 1990's. Without the Beatles., and there effect on 60's musical culture, there would not have been Progressive Rock, Glam Rock, Punk, and all the other genres that followed as a result.

Sorry to correct you here, Multitrack recording was invented in the 1950's by non other than Les Paul (so famous, Gibson named a guitar after him)

As for the rest of your post, you are quite correct, The Beatles borrowed heavily from classical music. Key changes between verse and chorus etc. They were probably the most influential band of all time.
Were it not for the Beatles, Oasis wouldn't even know where to start.

i am sure there will be many who think the beatles are poor thats there opinion :D :D

to me they where one off the best bands ever

a reformation will not be the same as the origional beatles but less than half because with time age and different band members will produce a band that sound less like the beatles than one off the bootleg copy groups

I accept that my taste in music must differ from that of most other posters.
