I was thinking of buying a LED Conversion Kit for my 2 Cell Maglite Torch. I am not sure of the model but its the black metal police type and takes two batteries.
I have a massive police style Maglite and wondered the same.
However, I bought a Snap-On headlight for a job and it's (literally!) brilliant.
I tend to think any Maglite conversion may just be a waste of money over a newer lamp and body.
I have 2 AA type Maglites and have converted one to LED. The light output and battery is far better but you loose the ability to adjust the beam focus.
For my work I'm often using dentists mirrors where focusing the beam is essential so one Maglite still uses bulbs.
With LEDs the headtorch has really overtaken Maglites...
