Water-vinegar solution, I just did it, it worked great. Didn't even have to use a special cloth, used a sponge to smear the solution around the window and then a cloth from Poundland to clear it all up.
Although, this still does not encourage me to wash the windows. Well, a spring clean and that's about it.
Bungalows are so much easier for everything. Easier to update electric, plumbing etc. Easier to look after gutters, clean windows. I highly recommend them!
Shame so many bungalow owners convert their lofts really.
It may sound extreme, but...
If you have smallish uPVC windows, it is quite easy to take the sealed units out and clean them at your leisure. It also good to give the frame a once over at the same time.
...and gives you good access to paint the soffits!
