British Gas have always done a good job of servicing my central heating boiler

If not ask around your friends and family for a local heating engineer.

Well, BG is a budget cost make, generally of square white plastic accesories,

You buy them cheap, they conform to the relavent standard. Given a reasonable work routine they should be fine.

That's it.

If you want a quality install, pay more.

Ferrari isn't a good comparison. Ferrari's are nice to look at, unlike MK.
