Pressure gauge underneath the boiler

Big backward step for Biasi....loads of plastic bits including the casing

All new heat exchanger....anygood, who knows :?:

All new HE made of alloy!

Virtually every part of the boiler is unique and not used on any other model. Even the pump!

PS David, I hope you are taking on board my advice about uni ?

biasi makes another ugly boiler.

the only parts that sightly interests me is the main hx only because I have a theory on were they got it from.

it looks like biasi are after the building sector that ideal isar/icos was designed for.

sadly this boiler is a massive step back for biasi . poor design inside and out.

I have lost track of what Biasi are trying to do.

But about 3-4 years ago they were going to be chasing the contract market and apparently took on about three salesmen to sell to that sector.

Not surprisingly the salesmen did not sell any boilers and were "dispensed with" and the proposal seems to have lapsed.

Having said that I dont see any postings here about serious failures of Activa boilers.

Its a bit like the ideal Logic. On the basis of experiences from here and after an in depth stripped inspection at the show, I selected one for an urgent installation last week. I had the assistance of someone who has come to me for training for his ACS portfolio and who has been assisting RGIs with heating installations for seven years. He was very sceptical of the Logic at first but afterwards he was very impressed by the ease of fitting and the low lift weight.

I will be impressed by trouble free operation for at least three years.

Biasi have made some very good / reliable boilers , the Riva/prisma combis & in particular the SR systems boilers , there budget B rated condensers , with the stainless steel recouperaters were in my view a very good boiler , as for the new Activa's ect who knows ?? time will tell ?

How ever it is not just the boilers , it is also the atitude of the manu' that needs to be considered , & in my veiw they are a lousey company to deal with & my advice to any one customer & installer is to stay away from them !!

The Biasi M96 is one of the best made and one of the most reliable boilers ever made.

Unfortunately Transam ( who does not post under his name ) has apparently become unhappy with some aspects of the service provided by Biasi.

Until I have learnt a lot more about the Activa model then I am unable to come to any comclusion about its likely reliability.

rolllocks. its decent boiler for the price but dont wet your pants over it its not that great. Surely as a representative of Biasi your comments should be taken with suspicion?

I am not a representitave of Biasi or any other manufacturer.

I am totally independent, and unlike like some others on here, I have never received any free boilers from anywhere.

Mick, can you name any common manufacturer's fault affecting M96 boilers? Do you know the percentage of manufacturer's faults needing repair under the warrantee?

I am always some what sceptical , of any percentage figures given by manufacturers with ref to there warranty breakdowns , in my view they can be taken with a pinch of salt !

M96 ?? ignition board may be ??? possibly ??

I have information which I have been able to assemble myself which indicates the reliability.

Others on this forum have said that Biasi told them that they had less than 1% warranty claims on their M96 boilers. The reliability is way higher than that because most of those claims were due to installer error ( mostly dirt in the system ).

Somewhat oddly the manufacturers do NOT advertise the reliability of their boilers even when like the Biasi its very good. Perhaps this is because when they get something wrong then it would be used against them by other manufacturers.

So when Viessmann had 90% of their previous 100 series needing a new ignition unit within three months it would have looked very bad.

BUT the Viessmann had 3-5 years warrantee and the service agents or staff engineers come out quickly or give the installer the unit to fit quickly and efficiently. I mostly fitted the new unit when I installed the boilers.
