Bibby Bargain Barge?

Dishonesty again Jim , It is not a prison ship, it provides substantially better facilities, Prisoners cost the tax payer around £40k per year. This facility is 10% more - seems reasonable value and nobody has suggested a way to reduce the cost further, while meeting the requirements of the contract.
You seem content to defend the contract value even though its dearer than a prison, with all the security and manpower requirements

more dishonesty from Roy who likes to champion honesty. (psst. He's not really called Roy are you Jim.)
It's a sure sign someone's argument has totally failed when they resort to silly ad hominem comments.

You're not really called motorbiking, are you? Does that make you dishonest?

You should take a leaf out of Zoe Gardner's and Lucy Moreton's book, and learn how to construct eloquent, specific and accurate arguments. They show you to be desparately incapable.

Like a typical prison.
Your list applies to those accomodated in hotels, at cheaper rates.

Just one of your claims destroyed.
He added: “In the barge, we have exactly the feeling of being in prison. It is true that they say that this is not a prison and you can go outside at any time, but you can only go to specific stops at certain times by bus, and this does not give me a good feeling.
“Even to use the fresh air, you have to go through the inspection every time and go to the small yard with high fences and go through the X-ray machine again. And this is not good for our health.
“In short, this is a prison whose prisoners are not criminals,

A Home Office spokesperson said: “The Bibby Stockholm is part of the government’s pledge to reduce the use of expensive hotels and bring forward alternative accommodation options which provide a more cost-effective, sustainable and manageable system for the UK taxpayer and local communities.

So the government's policy ambition fails miserably?

By a guardian article :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

here's another example of prison-like accommodation for illegal immigrants pending deportation.
Just imagine: If the government got their finger out and processed the asylum seekers, as they're supposed to, instead of intentionally 'storing them up in hotels, barges and luxury flats', they could use those spaces for veterans and homeless.

Joseph Williams, 32, (left) and Steve Pearman, 40, (right) think the flats should be used for veterans and the homeless
from your link.

And all of this defence assumes the total contract is £22 million. We all know that's not the full figure

With a bit of planning, we should be able to do this for £10k easy.
The cheapest full-board independent schools are around £25k a year, and that's with a good quality education and much nicer accommodation and sports facilities than they need.

Regardless of the cost, the cheapest option is get them working and tax them.

you previously said: “they can’t be allowed to work that’s jumping the work visa route”

if you prevent people earning money then they have to be given stuff.

stop moaning about it.
