So installed on the internal cavity if you like not the external? I'm meeting the boss chap later on today now as he's after his money so I'll keep you posted

No it won't reach the internal bricks - it would be over the cavity. It's a thermal detail to avoid cold bridging.
At the moment imagine if you add a plasterboard to the reveal, the edge will be directly attached to the bricks that are on the outside...
There are alternatives like insulated reveals but it doesn't look like your frames are thick enough to accommodate that, your internal finishes would be over the glazing.
Does this bifold actually fit in the opening? It looks to be at least 50mm too short.
If it were me fitting them I'd have removed the half bricks along the base, frogs I think is the term and laid a new course of bricks to suit, this whole install looks shoddy and untidy
The boss chap has just been. He's a actually a nice fella and i think he realised the entire thing was a bodge....obviously wouldnt admit to it but I could tell by the look on his face. He has said "we'll get it right for you". This is where I'd be grateful for some advice from those with more knowledge on what a correct installation looks like as I'm not sure what his version of "get it right" means. I've attached some pics of the internals and where the bifold is sat on the cavity and the hacked brickwork. I'll be asking to position bifold correctly on cavity, correct half bricks along base and remove timber, neaten brickwork internally and externally, apply the beads neater and square to frame...any other glaring issues apart from getting the things to actually work! Thanks all
