Better going to the source, Kodama Systems. They are proposing the thinning out of forests and removing unwanted/overgrow/dying trees.

Bill Gates has invested money in the company. That's a far cry from claiming Bill Gates is pushing a plan to chop down 70 million acres of forest.

What are you saying bill gates doesnt know how his investment is being spent ?
 
It won't take long for the ground to recover and replenish the forest. A whole new ecosystem will thrive under good Forestry management.

You understand the difference between investing in a company and directing it?
You understand what your investing in before parting with millions of dollars of your money so that you dont invest in something against your ethics. Quite a common investment method , ethical investments

And no, fact checkers are not necessarily simply opinion, if research shows that information on a fact checker site is supported across a range of trusted sources, it is a good indication that the fact checker contains fact.
