Well you wouldn't want a 9" joist going across your bedroom ceiling.yes but what does binder actually do? why it's sitting on top of joist?
If it sitting below joist then maybe I think of a reason it holds joists but why is it top?
Thank u
then how a binder solve this issue?Well you wouldn't want a 9" joist going across your bedroom ceiling.
It does what it says on the tin - i.e. binds them together. On their own they are more likely to flex. When bound together, each joist will gain adventitious strength from the neighbouring joist. A similar thing happens when solid bridging is used between floor joists.yes but what does binder actually do? why it's sitting on top of joist?
