Egret. There’s a river I have to cross on the way to the station. I often see one standing there waiting for a fish to come along. On about three occasions in the last 30 years I’ve seen a kingfisher flying along the length of the river. The colours on them are absolutely beautiful.

We get them in West Essex now but never had them in my garden.
A couple of white doves on the bridge near my house.
A baby raven that the dog picked up in the woods. He was not happy - neither were his parents!

I find it strange how pigeons are so disliked. They have some beautiful colours and I like hearing their cooing in the mornings.
