I find it strange how pigeons are so disliked. They have some beautiful colours and I like hearing their cooing in the mornings.
I've been woken by an owl at odd times over the past few weeks. Never see him, though, so no pic. Sorry.

I think this is an ingrit. I'm no expert.

Down my local park tonight, beautiful bird
"Little Egret" to be precise

as for Kingfishers, they are very very different, here is one eyeing up my garden pond (probably the most unlikely visitor ever to my garden)

No pictures I’m afraid but for the last week or so, I have seen dozens of 'twitchers' walking through Thorndon country park towards one of the ponds with all sorts of long range lenses on cameras with tripods. Fairly in a rush they are. I managed to get one to tell me what was going on. "Night Heron" was all he breathlessly said without stopping or turning round! Dedicated lot, aren’t they? :ROFLMAO:

Heard a birdsong coming from a tree in a neighbours garden and it wasn’t the usual Robin. I went and got my monocular and to a photo. Took a photo with my phone, through the monocular so not that crisp but you can clearly see it is a Goldfinch.

I think I’m missing the connection with Fred West and a 45 year old chair. Did he do something in a chair?

What things does it explain?

It's not been warm enuff to sit out & watch my feeders yet, but I have noticed a considerable slowdown in the rate needed to top 'em up.

Missus told me we've had a few visits from a sparrowhawk recently, but I reckon this is a summat else's doings.
