There were maintenance workers working on it at the time. You can see the flashing lights of their vehicles as it went down. I suppose they were 'lucky' it wasn’t rush hour.

Looks like it lost control 5 minutes before the crash.. it was doing 8kts. and was only 30 mins after departure.

Those concrete piers designed in the 70s are no match for the BIG modern container vessels.
The poor harbour pilot on the bridge would have been aware what was about to happen but powerless to avoid it.
Maritime law however still places the ships captain as responsible for vessel safety.

Yeah, in the video you can see the flashing lights on their vehicles and those vehicles plunging into the water.
Right PITA having to drive all the way around for the foreseeable.
