I was testing the incoming RFI in my ring circuit and while doing so only blew part of the ring circuit.I thought I blew the whole circuit but all the important appliances are intact and working. None of the appliances blew .The fuse has not blown but I still do not have supply on one part of the ring circuit. Can anyone help?? Miss cony

it sounds like you have "burnt" a connection. it will be in the socket prior to the ones that are working. BUT, turn the mains OFF before you do anything else.

and what exactly were you doing and what with?

Thanks breezer

I am trying to locate all the RF emitting sources and places in my flat as I have recently become electrically sensitive and I am aware of RF radiatio in my flat and feel it intense in the night when I am sleeping. It has steadily increased since it started a year back. I am a power electronic engineer and I am not quite conversant with the electrical systems in the UK but I have done a lot of reading to update my lack of knowledge. I am sure if I check all the sockets I will be able to find the problem. You were right when you said it is burnt joint as I smelt burning in my living room as soon as the power for half the circuit blew. I have just been lucky yesterday locating the RF source which is the TV antenna mainly but I cant believe it can affect me so much . I madea crude temporary core witha magnet and tested to see if i had any effect and it works.I will check and update in my next note.

im not being offensive and dont mean to cause any, but i think its in your head, i doubt that there is sufficiant radiation in your flat for you to notice, and it probrably wont rise above that much above the background radiation levels that are normal, unless that is, you have uranium cables in your house........

When I first saw "RFI", my immediate interpretation was "Radio Frequency Interference", and then I thought "nah - that's ridiculous, he must mean RCD, I wonder what he thinks RFI stands for?"

I am trying to locate all the RF emitting sources and places in my flat as I have recently become electrically sensitive and I am aware of RF radiatio in my flat and feel it intense in the night when I am sleeping.

Well don't go to sleep then! Or if you must sleep, turn off the electricity first. Or wear copper wire socks and silver plated underpants (I kid you not - see these charlatans: http://www.lessemf.com/personal.html). Or get a Faraday Cage. Or get a life. Or get professional help. Or take your obsession here, where it belongs: http://www.electricalpollution.com.

Before you go, though, do tell us how, and with what, you were "testing the incoming RFI in my ring circuit" which caused you to blow it up, and are you lucky to be alive?

Cony. Is your surname Hatch by any chance?
